People, please listen to me.
I know many of us here disagree on the legality of abortion in this country. I strongly believe in it. Some don’t.
I have never wanted to have kids and it’s way past the time where I need to worry about this, but I am so upset at what is happening while pro-life advocates stay silent.
This video (of Ryan Hamilton sharing his wife’s ordeal) is a story about miscarriage. One in five pregnancies results in one. Many of you know this better than I do because you’ve been through it. I ask you, what would you have done if you were taken to the hospital to be cared for during a miscarriage and you were told to go home until it’s life threatening? What would you as a spouse have done seeing your partner treated this way?
That is happening in Texas and other states since Roe vs. Wade was overturned by the Supreme Court. Fact. I have seen the guy in this video tell his story on Twitter and there are people being supportive, but many are flat out telling him this didn’t happen to him and his wife. He rushed her to the ER in the nick of time. Imagine having this grotesque experience and getting such cruel pushback from so many ignorant fellow citizens?
Why were he and his wife in that position? Because the abortion laws are so strict that they’ve put fear into medical providers and the attorneys who represent them. They’re afraid to treat pregnant women who have problems.
You think you’re safe if you don’t live in one of those states? Well, I hope you hadn’t planned business travel to one either. Or a vacation in Orlando. Because if something goes wrong with your pregnancy, you will receive subpar care. Medical professionals are already making decisions about where to set up practices that won’t be constricted by laws affecting common sense reproductive care.
In Alabama, IVF has already been affected. What? You say you wouldn’t have your beautiful family if it wasn’t for that medical marvel procedure? Watch the Christian nationalists and other control freaks take that off the table as well. Wasn’t this supposed to be about putting the focus on family? At least you got yours, right?
Wake up! Or, heaven forbid, would that make you woke?
